Meet Graham | Harford County, MD Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, September 9, 2015
I've been photographing this family since big sister was in her Momma's belly.  I was THRILLED when I heard the news that this sweet family was expecting number two.  They've welcomed me into their homes, new and old, and even allowed me to visit them right after little man arrived.  You'll be seeing much more of Graham as he moves throughout his first year.  I'm so thankful to be along for the ride.  :)

Avery ~ 8 Days New | Harford County, Maryland (MD) Newborn Photographer

Monday, May 18, 2015
The first time I met Miss Avery at her First 48 Session, she was sleeping like a champ.  At her newborn session 7 days later, she wouldn't take her eyes off of me.  I have never seen such an alert newborn in the many years I've been photographing them.  She wasn't just looking at me....she was taking in her new world.  Her eyes followed me when I moved and for those of you who know newborns, they usually don't do that at 8 days old.  Keep being curious, sweet Avery!  The world is a wonderful place.  :)

Amelia ~ From Bump to Birthday | Howard County, MD Family and Baby Photographer

Tuesday, April 28, 2015
I've been photographing this sweet little girl since she was a bump in her Momma's belly.  She's grown into a quiet, inquisitive, FAST one year old and it's been such a pleasure watching her grow.  Enjoy some of my favorite images of her as we celebrated her first birthday, her 100th day, her arrival, and anticipated her birth.
It's been quite a year.

Happy First Birthday, Amelia!

First 48 Session | Avery ~ Harford County Newborn Photography

I cannot wait to see this sweet little girl in only a few short hours.  She was sleeping like a champ when I visited her and her family in the hospital....hopefully it will be more of the same for her newborn session.  First 48 sessions are quickly becoming my favorite type of session.  I get to spend time with families at one of the most incredible times of their lives and I get to experience a new life within hours of birth.  Simply amazing!  I am blessed to do what I do.  :)

Until next time!

For five years, I have been watching this sweet girl grow.  She is smart, quiet, thoughtful, and loved dearly by her awesome parents.  A minute or two of watching the three of them together and it's obvious.  I am so lucky to be able to capture even just a little glimpse of their love year after year.  You can see some more of this lovely family here.
 Until next time!

I LOVE My Office! {Newborn Photography Prop Storage}

Tuesday, March 31, 2015
I have been working on this space for what seems like YEARS.  While I can't show you the computer side of my office (because it may or may not be in shambles), I couldn't wait to show off the beautiful space where I store all of my goodies.  Newborn photography props, backdrops, blankets, and (of course) my beloved chairs had to have a spot in this very tiny space and I think I've done a pretty good job finding everything a home.  Who doesn't love chairs hanging on their walls?  Not this girl!
 Newborn hats just waiting for a little noggin.
My grandfather made this doll bed for my mom and I used it for my very first newborn session.  Love.
Until next time!

Throwback Thursday ~ Miss T | Harford County Family Photographer

Thursday, March 26, 2015

Hands down, the best thing about what I do is watching your littles grow.  As an elementary special area teacher, I got to teach the students from the day they got off the bus on the first day of kindergarten until they said their goodbyes and marched off to middle school.  I miss that most of all about teaching.  Lucky for me, I have some pretty special clients who keep coming back year after year.  I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane, T family!  I did.  :)  I"ll see you soon.

Until next time!

What to Wear Wednesday! {What to Wear ~ Spring Family Portrait Sessions}

Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Spring portrait sessions are well under way and the most asked question I get is WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?  Even I get a little stressed when it comes time to pick out the clothing.  While it's certainly not an easy task, it's not one that should provide an abundance of headaches.  Over the next few weeks, I will be posting tips and examples to help make your spring family portrait session a breeze to style.  And, of course, if all else fails, call me.  :)

Tip #1:  Coordinate, but don't match.
     I always like to pick one pattern or color and go from there.  Since I'm the only girl in my family, I think that I should be able to get away with being the "pop" of color or bold print.  Sometimes, I'll pick a cute patterned dress and then match everyone else to that.  I've gotta get something for being on my own on this island of testosterone!  If the momma doesn't want to be the star, the littlest lady of the family always looks cute with a print dress, or give your little guy a bright vest to wear or a bow tie in a bold print and then go from there.  Pick 1,2, or even 3 coordinating colors and then blend them with neutrals like gray, cream, or navy.

     Check out the collection below.  Why does this work, you ask?  Start with the print top in the middle.  All of the bold colors come directly from that palette (coral, yellow, and green).  Throw in some neutrals (cream, navy, and brown) and you've got the perfect combination for spring portraits that pop!

Stay tuned for more tips on how to make your spring session the best it can be!

Joshua ~ 14 Days New | Baltimore County, Maryland Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, March 11, 2015
Meet Joshua.

As far as newborns go, once his belly was full he was a dream to photograph.  Took him a little while to get nice and sleepy, but while I was waiting, he gave me some great eye contact.  I love it when they look at me.  :)  He's got curious eyes, squishy cheeks, and a dimple to die for. What more could a woman want?
